Chembra Peak

So we started the next day after breakfast at about eight in the Appam and stew washed down with a cup of hot tea. We hit the base in an hour after a few stops on the road. We then pay 500 to Forest Department for permission. guide accompanies us on the trek. This guide was the tribal name Marthandan, fit lithe young fellow.

You can ride up quite a bit, so effectively Trek is just the last 2000 ft or so.The road Kucha road that passes through acres of lush tea gardens is a treat for the eyes. On both sides you will find high teak and pine trees. As you climb higher from certain vantage points you can have a look at the entire valley below. the valley below was filled with many plantations and valleys combination provides the perfect opportunity for landscape photography. If you go early in the morning around 8-9, sprinklers were on, so you can see a fine spray of water into the air above the tea bushes. There are some places on the road where the spray from such sprayers to fall, so you can get out of their cars and enjoy a fine mist of water on you. It is essential sense. It's actually a tea estate called Chembra property and you will see many workers are returning to work plucking tea (Tea plucking is done early in the morning, and the work is done at the time of urbanized people we get to work). At the end of the road is a gate that leads us to the trekking trails. It is here that the property manager's bungalow is located. This is an old colonial style buildings with red tile Mangalore and makes a good picture. At the moment we parked our vehicle and started to climb.

going to be easy at first, but from a distance gradient becomes steeper, and it was quite the effort to climb. But we slowly prod and after an hour long trek to reach the crystal clear lake we were greeted. This view is simply wonderful and all our tiredness was lost in this beauty. We stopped for some snacks and played for sometime in the cool waters of the lake.

then we took another 2 hours to reach the summit. Summit provides a wonderful view of the lower valley of Wayanad. the sky is crystal clear and blue, and it was fantastic to be on top of the world. From the summit one can have a bird's-eye view of the entire Wayanad district and is a treat for the photographer in all of us. After spending half an hour we made our way down. It takes about 2-3 hours for you to come down.

by the time we returned to the base is almost evening and we were very tired. So we decided to head back to the hotel in Kalpeta and rest our weary feet. We reached our hotel at six in the evening and it was kind of cold. So we thought that our fatigue drown in a few shots of vodka with shrimp and fried panner Tikka. Then, after a sumptuous dinner we were plonked on a soft bed and slept soundly.

The next day we woke up to glorious sunshine and decided that it was a perfect day to pay a visit to the famous waterfalls, Wayanad. There are two main falls here in Wayanad, and Suchipara Meenmutty fall. Suchipara falls are more popular and you will find a lot of people here even on weekdays.
